ROBERT A. DOUGHERTY brings his extensive experience in commercial litigation, real estate, and personal injury to the firm. Before joining the firm, Robert litigated at several law firms in New York. Robert’s expertise concentrates on many of the firm’s practices areas.
Real Estate: Mr. Dougherty represents a wide variety of buyers, sellers, landlords, tenants, developers and contractors. The matters include vacating tax deeds, easements, rights of way, title issues, zoning, and planning. Mr. Dougherty has represented clients in a broad range of complex real estate litigation with over 36 years of experience.
Commercial Litigation Career: Mr. Dougherty has had over 36 years of commercial litigation experience. He has tried 25 trials and arbitrations, argued 30 to 40 appeals to the First Department, Second Department, Appellate Term, and Second Circuit. He has conducted 250 depositions. Mr. Dougherty has extensive experience in preparing all manner of pleadings, motion papers, briefs, and memos of law.
Personal Injury: Mr. Dougherty has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in numerous personal injury cases. He has conducted several trials, over 100 depositions, and 15 appeals. In addition, he has prepared countless pleadings, motion papers, briefs and memos of law.
Construction Litigation: Mr. Dougherty has represented owners, general contractors, and subcontractors in countless construction litigation matters. He handles preparation of pleadings, motion papers, briefs, and memos of law to prepare for trials and appeals. He has argued on behalf of clients in the Southern District, Eastern District, First Department, Second Department, Appellate Term, and Second Circuit
